Updating Custom Record Permissions in NetSuite
Hello NetSuite users!
To ensure Custom Records are secure in your environment, you will need to go into any role that has a user provisioned and update the following permissions to a less-than-full view:
In the Admin role, you will navigate to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Users. This will give you a list of Roles currently assigned to Users in NetSuite.
Next, you will go into Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles and select a Role by clicking EDIT next to the role.
Once in the role, you will navigate to the Permissions Tab > CUSTOM RECORD Tab:
In the Level column, review any Levels and adjust to only the level of access needed by this role.
Your options are:
- None
- View
- Create
- Edit
- Full
With any update to Permissions and roles, always be sure to have the user test the functionality OR assign yourself the role and test to ensure no issues.
At GSI, we always recommend making role changes outside of normal business hours.
