Ecommerce with NetSuite and Shopify-minBalancing operations across Shopify and NetSuite can be a complex challenge.  To streamline your processes and maximize efficiency, consider integrating these platforms.  The NetSuite Connector automates data transfer between Shopify and NetSuite, ensuring real-time synchronization and streamlining your NetSuite eCommerce processes.

    How the NetSuite Connector Works

The NetSuite Connector automates data exchange between Shopify and NetSuite, ensuring real-time synchronization.  When a customer makes a purchase from your Shopify store, the following actions occur:

    • Cash Sales:  For orders that do not require an item fulfillment within NetSuite, the connector creates a cash sale transaction directly into NetSuite, capturing essential details such as the customer’s shipping information, product details, quantities, prices, and payment events.  This sync also generates the necessary accounting entries to record revenue and any related expenses.
    • Sales Orders: For orders requiring an item fulfillment, the NetSuite Connector creates a sales order in NetSuite, outlining the products ordered, quantities, customer’s shipping details, pricing information, and also records a payment event. The sales order transaction serves as a foundation for subsequent order processing, including inventory allocation, shipping, and invoicing.

Converting Your Sales Orders to Cash Sales When a payment is received for a sales order and in turn the order is fully fulfilled, NetSuite can convert the sales order into a cash sale transaction. This process involves creating a cash sale record, applying the received payment to the cash sales transaction, and generating the necessary accounting entries to reflect the cash receipt (monies received) and revenue recognition.
