Is it time to start looking at all the features in World A9.4 and develop your plans for upgrading to the latest and greatest? With all the changes in laws (FASB, SOX, ACA, ETC), it's more important than ever to stay up to date with the software. Most customers on World A9.3 can upgrade to World A9.4 with about a 90 day effort, depending on the number of custom JD Edwards delivered objects. Using the newest tools and upgrade planning methodology, moving to and keeping current is easier than ever before. As part of the upgrade, it's probably a good time to investigate upgrading your IBM to V7R2. There are a number of features added and moving to V7R2 has minimal impact on most 3rd party products.
Moving to World A9.4 shows Oracle you are interested in keeping current with the product as well, as giving you the most runway available of Premier support. Having a long runway remains especially important to those customers considering a move to EnterpriseOne within the coming years.
Although there is currently no direct migration path from World to EnterpriseOne, you still have options to get there. Sharing your upgrades with Oracle and leveraging your partnership with Oracle, ensures that you have the most options available when it's time for your organization to make the leap.
